Shades of Anger, May 19, 2024 post

Good morning! It’s the week of May 15, the few days each year in which the world comes together to commemorate the Nakba (Arabic for “catastrophe”) that began in 1948.

LEARN. Look at the “Resources to DO” section of the Mural board created for us by Shades of Anger co-leader Animah Kosai (password is “FreePalestine).

Image is a screenshot of the “Resources to DO” section of the Mural board (click on link to access). The background is a painting of an olive grove, and scattered across are action items. (Image credit: unknown; please reply or leave a comment if you have information for proper crediting.)

NOTICE. How does it feel to know YOU can take action to help liberate Palestine? Energizing, empowering, or something

ACT. In honor of the ongoing Nakba, take action in support of the people of Palestine! Choose one or more actions from the Mural board (password: “FreePalestine”) and do it right now.

SHARE. Right now, send this email to 3 people and encourage them to join you in taking action for the liberation of Palestine.

ASK. What action did you take today? Please reply to this email (or, if you are reading this online, leave a comment below) to let us know.*

In solidarity for Palestinian liberation,

Kay Coughlin, on behalf of the Shades of Anger collective

*You can also continue the conversation with us in the Speaking Up Network, a private social media platform co-created by Animah Kosai, one of the leaders of Shades of Anger.

Shades of Anger was created by a global collective of women to raise awareness and inspire action to free Palestine. We also believe in liberation for Sudan, the Congo, Haiti, and all places where systems of oppression are causing immense suffering and crushing the life out humans. We are led by women of the Global Majority/BIPOC. Shades of Anger is for everyone who wants to act for liberation and you can learn more about it here.
