Palestinian Christians prevented from entering Jerusalem for Easter
Shades of Anger, March 31, 2024
March 31, 2024
Today, March 31, is Easter Sunday for many Christians across the world. Israel is preventing Palestinian Christians from entering their holy city of Jerusalem. Here are our recommendations on what you should know.
LEARN. With the daily horrors of brutality in Gaza, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that the West Bank is also an occupied territory. Restrictions and violence against all Palestinians - Muslims, Christians, and those of all religions or none - in the West Bank are increasing at an alarming pace. Read this article about how Israel is preventing Palestinian Christians from entering Jerusalem to worship for Easter.
Bonus: more on Easter. This article on Easter in Jerusalem, along with others, can be found on the resource board Animah Kosai created for us, here (password: FreePalestine). The Easter resources are located in the lower left corner of the board, linked within the beautiful painting, “Easter in Jerursalem” by Anis Hamadeh.

NOTICE. Jerusalem in considered a holy city for people of many religions. What emotions do you feel about Israel preventing Palestinians of all religions from having access to this city that is a foundation of their faith?
ACT. If you have friends and family who identify as Christian, tell them about how Israel is preventing Palestinian Christians from worshipping according to their traditions. The occupation and brutality against Palestinians is not just a problem for Muslims.
SHARE. Forward this email to at least 5 friends, family members or colleagues, with an urgent plea to tell their communities about the escalation of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
ASK. What do you want to learn about how you can take action to help the West Bank? Reply to this email or leave a comment to tell us. We’re here to help.
