Northern Gaza struggles with NO hospitals

Good morning. Remember that YOU can take action in support of liberation, for Palestine and beyond!

LEARN. Recent reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) have highlighted a dire situation in Northern Gaza. According to a WHO video briefing (watch here), there are no functioning hospitals left in this region, which has been the case since at least December of 2023. This means that essential medical services, including those crucial for women's health, such as childbirth, menstruation, and cesarean sections, are severely compromised.

NOTICE. Imagine the trauma and fear experienced by women in Northern Gaza trying to access basic healthcare services under these conditions. Imagine the anguish of mothers and fathers in northern Gaza, trying to protect their children amidst the chaos. Children, innocent and vulnerable, bear the brunt of this healthcare crisis. With no functioning hospitals, how will these little ones receive treatment for bomb wounds, injuries, and illnesses? The thought is heartbreaking - let it break your heart.

ACT. YOU can make a difference and support the people of Gaza during this healthcare crisis. Take these actions now:

  • Donate to IMANA’s Aid for Gaza: Visit IMANA’s donation page to contribute to their efforts in providing life-saving medications and supplies to Gaza. IMANA is shipping 10 tons of supplies from Türkiye, airlifting 25 tons from Pakistan, delivering medical equipment to Al Aqsa Hospital, and supporting critical care units in Gaza.

  • Support NGOs: Research and support other organizations working to provide healthcare and humanitarian aid to Gaza, such as Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, or the Palestine Red Crescent Society.

SHARE. Spread the word about the urgent need for healthcare support in all of Gaza. Share this email with 5 people - friends, family, and colleagues.

ASK. After learning about the healthcare crisis in Northern Gaza, what actions did you take to support those in need? Please reply to this email (or, if you are reading this online, leave a comment below) to let us know.*

Shades of Anger was created by a global collective of women to raise awareness and inspire action to free Palestine. We chose the name of our collective to honor the poem, “Shades of Anger,” by Palestinian-Canadian poet Rafeef Ziadah. We also believe in liberation for Sudan, the Congo, Haiti, and all places where systems of oppression are causing immense suffering and crushing the life out humans.

We are led by women of the Global Majority/BIPOC. Shades of Anger is for everyone who wants to act for liberation and you can learn more about it here.
