Media Complicity in Genocide

Shades of Anger, April 6, 2024

April 6, 2024

Good morning! Always remember: YOU can take action to help liberate Palestine. Here are our recommendations for today.

LEARN. Watch this interview from Al Jazeera with Mohammed El-Kurd on the media’s complicity in the genocide here. In a move to further control the public narrative, on April 1, 2024, the Israeli parliament passed a law giving the government the authority to shut down foreign networks if they believe them to be a harm to Israel’s security. Because of this new law, Al Jazeera will most likely be kicked out of Israel.

The text reads, "Al Jazeera, The Listening Post, Palestine 'Death Over Indignity." The image is a screenshot from a video on Youtube.

NOTICE. What do you feel when you hear Mohammed El-Kurd call out the complicity of the media and the dehuminisation of Palestinians? Do you agree? If not, why not?

ACT. Email one news outlet in your region and tell them to end their complicity in the genocide in Palestine. Based on what you learned from this video, or from your own perspective as a citizen of the world, give specific examples of what the media needs to do to be responsible instead of complicit.

SHARE. Right now, forward this email to one person and have a conversation with them about Mohammed El-Kurd’s interview.

ASK. What do you know now that you didn’t know before watching the interview with Mohammed El-Kurd? Reply to this email to let us know.
