Shades of Anger, March 28, 2024

March 28, 2024

Today’s action message is a little different. We’re sharing the resources that fueled our discussion at our March 27th Shades of Anger community session. Please join us in the next session and bring your friends, colleagues and family members - register here.

LEARN. In the March 27 session, Animah Kosai, one of the leaders of the Shades of Anger collective, shared with us not only her deep connection to and anguish over the genocide of Palestinians, but she also called us to take urgent action. Here are the resources we explored together:

  1. “If My Words" by Rafeef Ziadah, here, spoken word poet and human rights activists who inspired us to call our collective “Shades of Anger.”

  2. The resource board Animah created for us, here (password: FreePalestine).

  3. And, this response space Animah also created for Shades of Anger community members to reflect and encourage each other to take action (password: FreePalestine).

NOTICE. What emotions do you feel when you listen to Rafeef Ziadah’s profound poetry? Are there any emotions you’ve been conditioned to suppress instead of admit you feel? If you stopped pushing away emotions like grief, guilt or fear, would you have more time or energy to take actions to help Palestinians?

ACT. In the Mural resource board, zoom in on the blue dollar sign ($), located in the center on the far right of the page, and give as much as you can to these urgent relief and aid efforts. Or click here and here to go directly to the donation pages.

SHARE. Forward this email to at least 5 friends, family members or colleagues. Invite them to attend the next community session.

ASK. What action are you committed to take TODAY to help Palestine? No action is too small! Reply to this email or leave a comment to tell us. We’re here to help.

In solidarity for liberation for Palestine,

Kay Coughlin, on behalf of the Shades of Anger collective

P.S. Have you signed up for our weekly Shades of Anger online sessions to build your knowledge and skills to be an advocate for Palestine?

Shades of Anger was created by a global collective of women to raise awareness and inspire action to free Palestine. We also believe in liberation for Sudan, the Congo, Haiti, and all places where systems of oppression are causing immense suffering and crushing the life out humans. We are led by women of the Global Majority/BIPOC. Shades of Anger is for everyone who wants to act for liberation and you can learn more about it here.
