Project Humanise Video

Shades of Anger, March 27, 2024

March 27, 2024

Always remember: YOU can take action every day to help liberate Palestine. Here are our recommendations for today.

LEARN. In honor of the holy month of Ramadan, which is going on right now, watch this video from Project Humanise. Their work is an inspiration for the Shades of Anger team.

Screenshot from YouTube of beginning of video, the title reads, "Project Humanise, Experiences of Muslims"

NOTICE. Think about a Muslim person you know, or if you don’t know any Muslims, think about the women featured in the video. What emotions do you feel about their pain over the devastating killings in Gaza?

ACT. Check in on a Muslim friend or colleague by saying something simple and sincere like, “I’ve been thinking about you, how are you doing?” Note to white folk: do NOT make this about you - ask how they are doing and then stop talking. If you don’t have a Muslim friend, learn more about Hannah Litt and Mehreen Ali of Project Humanise.

SHARE. Forward this email to at least 3 friends, family members or colleagues.

ASK. What questions do you have about how to take meaningful action to support Muslim people right now? Reply to this email or leave a comment to tell us. We’re here to help!

In solidarity for liberation for Palestine,

Kay Coughlin, on behalf of the Shades of Anger collective

P.S. Have you signed up for our weekly Shades of Anger online sessions to build your knowledge and skills to be an advocate for Palestine?

Shades of Anger was created by a global collective of women to raise awareness and inspire action to free Palestine. We also believe in liberation for Sudan, the Congo, Haiti, and all places where systems of oppression are causing immense suffering and crushing the life out humans. We are led by women of the Global Majority/BIPOC. Shades of Anger is for everyone who wants to act for liberation and you can learn more about it here.
