Kid-Focused Companies Complicit in Harming Palestinian Kids
Shades of Anger, April 1, 2024
April 1, 2024
Friday, April 5 is Palestinian Children’s Day. Since October 7, nearly 14,000 children in Gaza have been killed by Israeli attacks, and an unknown number of children have been killed by starvation. So, all week we will be featuring resources focused on how we can help liberate Palestine for the sake of the children.
Always remember: every day is a good day to take action! Here are our recommendations for today.
LEARN. According to the international boycott/divest/sanction (BDS) movement, here, these companies are complicit in the violence against Palestinian children because they do business with or support Israel. There are several well-known companies on here, such as Disney and McDonalds, whose primary audience includes children. Today is a good day to boycott or divest from these companies.
NOTICE. Do you need to do anything at all to commit to stop eating food from McDonalds, Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, Papa John’s and Pizza Hut? What’s stopping you from finding alternatives right now to Puma, Chevron, Texaco, Carrefour and Sodastream? How difficult would it really be to sell all shares of stock you own in any of these public companies and replace those investments with companies that are NOT complicit in genocide?
ACT. In honor of the children of Palestine,
choose at least three of these BDS campaigns and commit to taking the action suggested by the organizers;
screenshot the BDS graphic and refer to it when you are making decisions about purchasing and investing; and
reply to this email or leave a comment on the post to tell us what action you are taking to boycott and divest from these irresponsible companies!
SHARE. Right now, forward this email to five people you know who need to hear that a company they support with their spending is complicit in the genocide of Palestinian children.
ASK. What questions do you have about efforts to boycott, divest and sanction? Reply to this email to tell us about it.
In solidarity for liberation for Palestine,
Kay Coughlin, on behalf of the Shades of Anger collective
