Doxing people for speaking out is not OK
Shades of Anger, April 23, 2024
April 23, 2024
Good morning! Always remember: YOU can take action to help liberate the people of Palestine, every day.
LEARN. Watch the short video for the new song, “The Ballad of UK Lawyers for Israel,” here.
“This song is brilliant. This group have tried to stop several charities, including Oxfam, complained about Channel 4 to Ofcom, and even alleged that PwC violated OECD guidelines. All complaints failed.
Employers, if you do receive complaints from this group, please ensure you have your employees' backs. Harassing and doxing people to their employers for their political views is not ok.”
NOTICE. As Animah Kosai says, “Harassing and doxing people to their employers for their political views is not OK.” In practical terms, how will it help you to know this? What do you need to do to remember it every day?
ACT. Reach out to someone who has been vocal about Palestine - perhaps a Palestinian or Muslim colleague - to let them know you’re there if they want to talk. Or, if you have a colleague who’s reluctant to speak out, simply offer to talk if they want to.
SHARE. Right now, forward this email to three people and ask them to donate to watch the video and discuss the song with you.
ASK. What practical help do you need to speak out about Palestine at work? Reply to this email to let us know.
In solidarity for liberation for Palestine,
Kay Coughlin, on behalf of the Shades of Anger collective
Shades of Anger was created by a global collective of women to raise awareness and inspire action to free Palestine. We also believe in liberation for Sudan, the Congo, Haiti, and all places where systems of oppression are causing immense suffering and crushing the life out humans. We are led by women of the Global Majority/BIPOC. Shades of Anger is for everyone who wants to act for liberation and you can learn more about it here.
